Are you someone who finds themself in the wild outdoors quite often?
Have you always thought to yourself, “Damn, it would be great if I had some kind of outdoor first-aid training” but then never found the right opportunity to pick up this skill?
The first hour following a mishap or injury, known as the ‘Golden Hour’, is crucial for determining the patient's outcome. In situations where getting the patient to definitive medical care takes longer than an hour, it's termed a wilderness scenario. This could occur even if you're near a hospital but unable to access medical aid due to factors like floods, strikes, riots, or processions.
Unlike traditional first aid programs designed for urban settings, the Emergency First Response (EFR) addresses the challenges specific to the rural context, where prompt responses and quick rescue services may be lacking. This course emphasizes experience, innovation, and a resolute spirit in providing effective first aid.
